With all the bits and pieces of my history scattered throughout the site, I figured it might be nice to have one place where I could put everything together.
I’ve been writing for nearly my entire life. I started when I was 9 years old, in 4th grade, with a story that was very, very heavily inspired by the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. A magic school held in a castle, an evil equivalent on a mountain that’s part of a perpetual ‘dark and stormy night’… And I finished it. It had an actual plot, even if it was full of conveniences. It had a developing relationship (that was completely cliché). And, of course, the good guys won.
Hey, I was 9. Give me a break.
Anyway, I spent 5th grade writing the sequel to that. And then I started on a 3rd that I never finished. All equally cliché and terrible, but, for someone of that age, pretty damn good.
And my passion for writing has never dwindled. I would get into multi-month bouts of writer’s block, but I would always bring my pen back to the paper. And, when I was 14, I wrote my first original novel. And though I dabbled in fan-fictions throughout the years (mostly scenarios of “What if my friends and I found ourselves suddenly in this world?”), completing an original work is the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done.
But you can go to literally any other page to see me talking about my writing. You came to this to hear about me.
By day, I work as a developer in IT for an insurance company. I came to work for them after I graduated college with a B.S. majoring in Informatics and minoring in Chemistry. My company is great! They really care about their employees, and all of my coworkers that I’ve told about my passion for writing and my publishing goals have been completely, 100% behind me – even if they don’t read the genre I write. I couldn’t ask for a more supportive place to work. And the traditional benefits are great, too!
I live with my husband, our two cats, and our dog in a nice little 4-bedroom ranch with a fenced in backyard. Since we don’t (yet) have kids, one of those bedrooms is being used as our office, and the other as a game room – complete with shelves for all of our board games and a nice, large table to set up on. As well as board games, we also enjoy video games. We have computers and several consoles that we play on. I personally prefer those games that have compelling story lines (surprise, surprise).
Other than that, there’s not really much to say about me!
Anyway, I do truly hope that everyone enjoys my works as I finally get them published! I have so many plans for Corlonys – but you’ll need to go to the Corlonys page for more details!
